The route to Kcynia
ROUTE: Szubin – Pińsko – Stare Słonawy – Malice – Kcynia – Żurawia – Dziewierzewo – Chraplewo – Królikowo – Słupy – Kowalewo – Szubin
In Szubin, we ride straight along the bike path on Leśna Street. Then we turn left onto Pałucka Street, which becomes a dirt road. On the left, we pass the village of Wolwark, visible from a distance. After about 7 km, we reach an asphalt road crossing our route. On the right, we can already see Pińsko, where there is an abandoned manor complex from around 1870 with remnants of a former magnificent park. We turn right, pass through the village, and follow a dirt road to Stare Słonawy. Then we turn left toward Słonawy and continue on the asphalt road toward Zalesie until the sign for Malice. We turn right and follow the asphalt road to Kcynia. We join the road to Wągrowiec. After about 5 km, we turn left to the village of Żurawia, and then continue straight to Dziewierzewo.
From the village, three roads lead to Szubin. The shortest goes through Malice to road 247, which takes us directly to Szubin. A medium-length asphalt road passes through Chraplewo, where there is a 19th-century manor complex, to Królikowo, where in the village center we pass a park with a neo-Gothic gate, a historic post office building, and a brick distillery from the second half of the 19th century, and then continue to road 247. Another option is through the village of Słupy, where in the center there is the Church of St. Vitus, estimated to date from the 11th century, and an 18th-century palace. We reach the Pałuki junction on the S5 route leading back to Szubin.
The longer route leads from Dziewierzewo to the village of Górki Zagajne, then to Retowo, Chraplewo, and Królikowo. The route ends similarly to the shorter variants, either by going directly toward the Kcynia–Szubin road or turning through Słupy and then the S5 to Szubin.
If we want to extend the trip, we can cross the S5 and head toward the village of Wąsosz, then continue to Chomętowo, followed by Gąbin and Mąkoszyn. We return through the forests in the direction of Smolnik.
