Spring of St. Hubertus
The spring flows out of the forest on the bank of Lake Ostrowieckie, near Wiktorowo. It is protected as a natural monument. Not far away, other springs and brooks may be found bubbling up from neighbouring ravines.
A legend describes the origins of the name of the spring: A hunter who didn’t respect animals or holidays lived in nearby Kierzkowo. During one of his hunts he shot at a deer brought there by Lucifer himself. The animal was enraged and wounded the hunter, who tumbled down an escarpment and came to a stop near the spring. Its water miraculously healed him through the intercession of St. Hubertus – the patron saint of hunters.
