St. Nicholas’ Church
This is the oldest preserved object of Gothic architecture in the district of Żnin. It was built of brick – probably at the turn of the 13th century – in the Early Gothic style. It is a simple, single-nave building, composed of a rectangular nave and a narrow presbytery. Numerous reconstructions resulted in a transformation of the original form of the building. In the first half of the 16th century, the church was given the Late Gothic form and then in the middle of the 19th century it was reconstructed in the Neo-Gothic style. The partly reconstructed Early Gothic double archivolt portal, which was preserved in the southern wall of the nave, is worth noticing. Today it is located in the church’s porch, which was added in the 19th century. The furnishings of the church are from the same period.
