The Palace in Lubostroń
The palace was built in 1795–1800 and is considered a pearl of Polish Classicism. It is undoubtedly one of the most precious and best-preserved residential complexes in Poland. The palace was designed by Stanisław Zawadzki – an excellent architect of Classicism. The shape of the building is reminiscent, for example, of Villa Rotonda in Vicenza, designed by Andrea Palladia. The dome is surmounted by a statue of Atlas carrying a globe that was created at the end of 19th century by Władysław Marcinkowski.
Next to the palace there is an annex, stables, and a coach house (presently a hotel facility and a restaurant). The palace is surrounded by a landscape park (40 ha) with a unique tree stand which gradually blends into the forest.
The palace is inseparably associated with the history of Poland. For years it was a stronghold of patriotism and national life. Today the Palace in Lubostroń is a cultural institution which is a centre of cultural and scientific activity. The picturesque landscape of the region, the atmosphere, and the unique interior design provide perfect scenery for the concerts and other events that are held in the area.
